Institute hosts supports holiday health at local shelter

Ridgeland, MS (November 20, 2023) The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health will deliver health and holiday cheer to the men at the Billy Brumfield Men’s Shelter.  From 6 p.m.-8 p.m., December 7, 2024, residents will have access to health screenings and MPox information. A Christmas lip sync competition, music, and free food will help ring in the holiday season.

The Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health was established in 2019 to reduce health disparities among disadvantaged and underserved minority populations in the Mississippi through the development of collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders and the implementation of evidence-based public health interventions with a particular focus on health equity.
